The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Al- Hikamah University, Professor Noah Yusuf paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN at the Kwara State University Main Campus, Malete on July 24, 2020 to seek collaboration with KWASU on entrepreneurship and community development.
Professor Noah expressed appreciation for the reception his team received from the KWASU management, describing it as “very warming”. He stressed that the purpose of the visit is too seek KWASU collaboration in terms of knowledge shearing on entrepreneurship and community development “our mission here is to understudy the entrepreneurial program of this institution, we are very much aware of the remarkable achievement of KWASU’s entrepreneurial program and we will like to do as KWASU is doing and even do better” he said.
On community development, the university don stated that Kwara State University is known for its enormous role in community development in the state, and Al-Hikmah University will like to impact its immediate community, empower individuals and groups of people with skill they need to effect change withing their communities as well “ in Al-Hikmah University, we will also want to see how we can impact on the community. KWASU is located in Malete but we are located in the hearth of the city, so we have no option but to impact our immediate community the exact way KWASU is doing in Kwara state” he stressed.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Mohammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN represented by the DVC Administration, Professor Omololu Oladele Fapojuwo welcomed the VC and his management team to KWASU and congratulated him on his appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, describing the appointment of Professor Noah as a step in the right direction for the institution. He pointing out that Prof. Noah is a world class scholar and an administrator par excellence.
Professor Fapojuwo said KWASU will be willing to work with Al-Hikmah University to forge a relationship that will be productive and beneficial to both institutions “this is the beginning of working together and collaboration in so many areas, KWASU will be willing to respond to any questions on entrepreneurship and community development and i hope this will benefit your institution in so many ways” he said.
The team from Al-hikmah University, was led round the campus by the Director Center for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Sunday Ojo to have a view of KWASU’s entrepreneurship programmes and achievements and given insight on how the programme works. Similarly, the Director Center for Community Development gave a detailed presentation on how KWASU’s community outreach programmes works, its challenges and achievements.
